Senior Director of Healthcare Travel
As Senior Director of Healthcare Travel at BlueForce Healthcare Staffing, Scott Cassady oversees the division’s brand and growth/development strategies. Scott conducts compliance development, as well as process mapping and auditing. In addition, Scott serves as Account Manager for some of BlueForce’s largest clients, and provides guidance and oversight of the recruiting team.
Scott joined Huffmaster Companies in 2007 as a Recruiter. He was quickly promoted to a role in inside sales, then again to the role of Sales & Staffing Coordinator. As Sales & Staffing Coordinator, Scott met with prospective clients nationwide, assisting them with the development of staffing matrices and cost pro formas, coordinating project planning in operations, and managing projects for administration. In this role, as Huffmaster was beginning to provide healthcare staffing for labor disputes, Scott also helped lay the groundwork for the operational processes that are still in place today.
In 2010, Scott was once again promoted to Special Projects Manager, where he displayed versatility working as a recruiter, database manager, quality assurance supervisor, scheduler and staffing coordinator, as well as on-site logistics manager, site coordinator, in-processor and client liaison.
Scott helped develop BlueForce Healthcare Staffing, the travel healthcare staffing division of Huffmaster, and in 2013 was put in charge of the business line. He has grown it to be one of Huffmaster’s foundational and fastest-growing divisions. Scott was promoted to his current position in June 2018, guiding the strategy and operations of BlueForce.
Scott is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sales and Business Marketing. Scott is an avid Detroit sports fan and scratch golfer. He enjoys traveling, board games, video games, volleyball, softball and disc golf. He has always considered himself a “people person” and his focus on relationship building in both his personal and business life has always been one of his top priorities. He has a wife and three daughters, and spends as much of his free time as possible enjoying family life.
Andrew Schroeder is the Account Manager for BlueForce. Andrew serves as the primary point of contact for our healthcare clients. He is also responsible for assisting our Recruiters in finding the highest qualified healthcare professionals and efficiently deploying them on rewarding travel assignments.
Andrew joined Huffmaster companies in 2014 as an Intake Recruiter and was promoted to a Recruiter role in the BlueForce division of Huffmaster in 2015. In this role, Andrew successfully placed hundreds of healthcare professionals and worked closed with our travelers to place them in ongoing opportunities. Andrew’s hand in the early development of BlueForce was critical to the development and implementation of the business model we use today.
In 2017, Andrew was promoted to the role of Lead Recruiter at BlueForce, working directly with more than 40 accounts, handling direct client relationships as well as our master service provider/vendor management systems. Andrew was promoted to his current role of Account Manager in June 2018.
Outside of work, Andrew likes to play chess, frisbee golf and board games. He also volunteers at the VFW his grandfather helped form, donating his time to holiday charities and fundraising events. Andrew is a resident of Clawson, and enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, cat and three dogs.
Ryan Mulholland is BlueForce Healthcare Staffing’s Senior Recruiter. Ryan takes a senior role in fostering relationships with both our clients and travelers, taking the lead in filling our clients’ open positions in healthcare facilities across the nation. As Senior Recruiter, Ryan is a full-cycle recruiter, working with our healthcare travelers from start to finish to match them to their preferred specialty/unit. Ryan also facilitates contract offers and helps the team actively recruit candidates on job boards and social media.
Ryan has been a member of the Huffmaster team since 2014, as one of our Crisis Staffing and Security division’s very first in-house Recruiters. In 2015, Ryan took an opportunity as Inside Sales Representative. During this time, Ryan took on additional responsibilities as a Site Coordinator on some of our largest strikes, supporting our in-processing team and supervising hundreds of on-site employees, both in the industrial and healthcare sectors. Ryan was promoted to the BlueForce team in 2016 as a Recruiter, being quickly promoted to Lead Recruiter/Account Manager in 2017. In July 2018, Ryan was promoted to his current role.
Ryan studied zoology at Ferris State University before getting his degree in Business Administration from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. You’ll see Ryan as the face of BlueForce at the trade shows we attend each year, including AONE, NTI, TravCon and ASHHRA. When Ryan’s not at the office or in the field, he plays softball and ice hockey, and enjoys camping and hiking. Ryan is a little league hockey coach for the Royal Oak Hockey Club and saltwater aquarium hobbyist.
As a Recruiter for BlueForce Healthcare Staffing, Valerie Baumgarten’s first priority is her relationships with applicants and our on-site travelers. Valerie is as dedicated to finding qualified staff for our healthcare clients as she is to finding unique opportunities for our travelers. Because healthcare travel is a huge commitment to the traveler and his/her family, Valerie makes it a point to understand each traveler’s objective, whether professional or personal, and locate the best contract available based on individual criteria.
Once a traveler is placed in a contract, Valerie focuses on providing support throughout the assignment, including transitioning to the placement, being accessible and maintaining an open and honest dialogue during assignment, and following up after each contract to find out where our travelers are looking to head next.
Valerie has been part of the BlueForce team since 2017. Prior to joining BlueForce, Valerie was a Recruiter for our parent company, Huffmaster Companies, for three years.
When she’s not recruiting, Valerie loves spending time outside with her 19-year-old son. Valerie has a passion for water sports and has been scuba certified since 1995. Valerie enjoys traveling just as much as our healthcare travelers do, and has lived in the Midwest, Northwest, Hawaii and now Florida. She hopes to soon start traveling internationally more frequently.
Bill Serra has been with Huffmaster since 2014, joining the BlueForce Healthcare Staffing team as a Recruiter in April 2018. As a BlueForce recruiter, Bill serves as the liaison between our healthcare clients and travelers. Bill is dedicated to matching our healthcare travelers with the best opportunities for their specialties, while helping our clients fill some of their most critical positions.
Before being promoted to the BlueForce team, Bill was a Recruiter for Huffmaster’s Crisis Staffing and Security division, working directly with healthcare professionals on two of Huffmaster’s largest healthcare strikes. Bill was promoted to Senior Recruiter before moving over to the healthcare travel staffing division.
Bill attended Macomb Community College with a scholarship for The Macombers show choir, and studied secondary education in history at both Macomb Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Bill has been a volunteer with organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Donate Life and Detroit Beautification Day. When off the clock, Bill enjoys films at the theater and disc golf.
Compliance and Logistics Coordinator
Lyndsey Roberts is the Compliance and Logistics Coordinator for BlueForce Healthcare Staffing. Lyndsey works closely with both our facility clients and travelers to prepare Joint Commission-compliant profiles and provide resources for travel and housing. Lyndsey manages facility and state-specific requirements, license applications, license verifications and background checks. In addition, Lyndsey performs audits of compliance data by compiling and analyzing internal and external information.
From a logistics standpoint, Lyndsey works with corporate housing vendors to establish agreements with reduced costs to enhance traveler satisfaction. She works closely with our healthcare travelers to reserve travel to and from assignments, as well as coordinate daily transportation and housing accommodations.
Lyndsey started her professional career as a certified medical assistant, working as a caregiver for several years providing in-home care and direct care, in various memory care and assisted living facilities.
In 2015, Lyndsey joined Huffmaster Companies as a Recruiter, filling multiple various healthcare positions. Lyndsey was promoted to a role as Order Processor with BlueForce Healthcare Staffing in 2016. In this role, she processed open orders from direct clients and MSP providers, creating compensation packages for new orders and validating existing packages. In this role, Lyndsey also managed all job board advertising and website job posts.
Lyndsey enjoys local art and music, and takings vacations with her two sons and fiancé Tommy.
Credentialing and Payroll Analyst
Pamela Thomas is BlueForce Healthcare Staffing’s Credentialing and Payroll Analyst. Pam handles all payroll concerns and processes traveler time sheets, travel stipends, mileage and reimbursements. Pam is also responsible for obtaining traveler credentials, conducting background checks, and sending employment documents to our travelers. Pam has recently taken on scheduling responsibilities for BlueForce, and sends our welcome packages out to new travelers.
Pam joined the BlueForce Healthcare Staffing team in March 2015 as Administrative and Payroll Assistant, after working as a Recruiter for the Healthcare Strikes division of Huffmaster. Shortly after, Pam was promoted to her current role of Credentialing and Payroll Analyst. Pam works very closely with our recruiters and accounting department, ensuring all employees are compensated appropriately in a timely manner.
Outside of work, Pam enjoys spending time with her family, riding her bike and attending concerts. She is also actively involved in community outreach with her church. Along with the rest of the team, Pam also loves traveling.
As Order Processor for BlueForce Healthcare Staffing, Lori Frey manages the job fulfillment procedure from end-to-end. Lori reviews and opens vendor orders, oversees all open orders, and keeps closed orders up-to-date. Lori also supports our recruiting team by posting open orders on job boards and BlueForce social media platforms, as well as prepares benefit and compensation packages for our travelers.
Lori joined Huffmaster after attending Central Michigan University, holding roles both as Executive Assistant to the Vice President, and conducting neighborhood investigations in our insurance fraud department. While Executive Assistant, Lori worked some of Huffmaster’s largest strikes, assisting with in-processing and operations. As an investigator, Lori conducted workers’ compensation fraud investigations, earning herself the nickname “Lori Frey, Private Eye”!
Lori left her investigative role for self-employment and to raise her children, but missed being in the office and returned to BlueForce after 15 years in 2016. With three children, two of whom are in college, Lori enjoys spending her free time watching her kids’ sporting events and attending her youngest son’s band concerts. Lori also enjoys running, golfing, baseball, being on the water and gardening. In good company with many of our healthcare travelers and our BlueForce team, Lori is a travel fanatic.
Briana Ugalde is one of BlueForce Healthcare Staffing’s Physician Recruiters, specializing in placement of permanent and locum tenens providers nationwide. Briana is responsible for matching providers to the perfect staffing opportunity. She has a wealth of experience managing relationships with physicians in specialties ranging from primary care to neurology.
Prior to joining BlueForce, Briana was a Physician Recruiter at a top national physician recruiting firm in Denver, Colorado. In her role, Briana placed hundreds of physicians and advanced practice professionals across the country.
Briana earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from St. Leo University in Tampa, Florida. As a student at St. Leo, Briana served as the Vice President of Internal Affairs for Theta Phi Alpha, a role in which she managed all contracts for the fraternity and led the standards board. Briana co-founded the business health care club at St. Leo, and was a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma national scholastic honor society.
Driven to the healthcare field by her passion of caring for others, Briana’s favorite aspect of being a physician recruiter is being able to meet the needs of our healthcare facility clients, in addition to building new relationships with providers every day.
When she’s not looking for the perfect provider to fill the needs of our facility clients, you can find Briana volunteering at an animal clinic or the Food Bank of the Rockies. She is an active member of Creative Women Colorado, an entrepreneurial women’s networking group. Based out of Denver, Briana is also an avid hiker, explorer, pet lover and dancer.
